Small Batch, Fresh Every Two Weeks
Due to our small-scale production and focus on freshness, worm castings are only available in limited quantities. New batches are harvested and stocked every other Thursday, so availability may vary depending on demand. Order while in stock or check back regularly for restocks.
Worm castings are one of nature’s most powerful soil enhancers, packed with beneficial microbes, enzymes, and nutrients that help plants grow stronger, healthier, and more productive. Our worm castings are produced right here on our homestead using a blend of red wigglers and European nightcrawlers, then hand-harvested every two weeks for maximum freshness and quality. Finely screened and slightly moist, they’re perfect for soil-building, transplanting, compost tea, and more.
Key Benefits:
-
Improves Soil Health: Adds microbial life and organic matter that boosts soil structure and plant resilience.
-
Gentle, Plant-Ready Nutrients: Naturally rich in nutrients that won’t burn roots or disturb delicate seedlings.
-
Safe & Organic-Friendly: Non-toxic and safe for use around kids, pets, and pollinators.
-
Versatile & Easy to Use: Great for top dressing, mixing into soil, or brewing compost tea.
Why Worm Castings?
Worm castings support plant growth by feeding the soil—not just the plant. Unlike synthetic fertilizers, castings release nutrients slowly and help create a living soil system. Whether you're preparing garden beds, starting seeds, or brewing compost tea, this is one of the most effective, low-risk ways to give your plants a strong foundation.
Application Guidelines:
-
Top Dressing: Sprinkle a small handful around the base of each plant as needed.
-
Soil Amendment: Mix 1–2 cups per square foot into garden beds, raised beds, or container soil.
-
Compost Tea: Use ½ to 1 lb of castings per 5 gallons of water. Aerate with an air pump for 24 hours to activate beneficial microbes and maximize nutrient extraction. Use as a foliar spray or soil drench.
-
Seed Starting & Transplants: Mix 10–20% castings into your potting mix for better germination and root development.
Note: Because our castings are harvested fresh and minimally processed, you may occasionally find a baby worm or cocoon in the bag. Don’t worry—they’re harmless and just a sign of healthy, living soil! :)
